SURFERS and THONGS

Thongs are the iconic surfer footwear. As well as being the symbol of a surfing lifestyle and sunny spots, they are also the perfect footwear for before and after a session: essential protection for the feet, simple, practical, and easy to take care of. Above all they are easy to slip on and take off, even with wet feet, without needing your hands when carrying your gear.

DESIGN

At OLAIAN, we design our thongs with the needs and requirements of surfers in mind, to suit as many people as possible. Product designed by our teams of surfers in Hendaye (France). The OLAIAN global design centre is located on the banks of the Bidassoa river in Hendaye. This allows us to design products in contact with users and in the marine environment.

USAGE SCENARIO

We designed these thongs for very occasional or seasonal use, for surfers going to spots within short walking distance (less than 3 km per day), and easy to access: flat ground and paths.

USAGE TESTS

Product tested by our teams, in collaboration with external testers, in real conditions.

These simple and practical thongs are easy to slip on and take off and are very quick-drying. Perfect for before and after watersports.

Fit

Flat soles. Plastic straps providing minimal foot support.

Drying time

Drying time: 10 min. Conducted in laboratory conditions at 23°C.

Durability

Single-layer sole. Reinforced to stop the toe post pulling through
