As female surfers of all levels, we designed this swimsuit for intermediate surfers surfing waves under one meter.
YOU ARE AN INTERMEDIATE SURFER
You regularly go surfing. During your sessions, you paddle out to the line-up, duck dive under the breaking waves if you are on a shortboard, or turtle roll if you are on a longboard, then surf waves of less than one metre. You often fall and are used to being shaken about underwater. Your swimsuit must meet the requirements of your activity and stay in place for each of your movements. We have designed a range for you that is suited to regular activity and your body shape.
ACTIVE AT THE BEACH!
Whether you are a surfer or enjoy bathing in the sea, you don’t want to lose your swimsuit! This is why we test all our swimsuits in the waves. Each model is designed for surfing and perfectly suits other water sports: stand-up paddle boarding, sailing, kite surfing, bathing, etc.
BODY SHAPE
The MAI tankini is designed for women who want to wear a one-piece swimsuit but have a body shape with different top and bottom sizes. Wearing a tankini with the briefs of your choice lets you choose a top and bottom size to suit your body shape and have the coverage and style of a one-piece. We chose to offer finely open cuts on the low-cut front and on the back for a lighter appearance.
LAYERING
You can wear the tankini Mai as a third piece that reveals the top of your swimsuit through the mesh fabric.
STAYS IN PLACE IN THE WAVES: THE TEST
We design swimsuits that promise to stay in place in the waves. To test them, we use a panel of female surfers with different body shapes who follow a test protocol in a pool at our design offices in Hendaye, southwest France. This protocol aims to reproduce the sensations experienced by surfers when being thrown around by a wave. If this test is conclusive, we go surfing in the sea to test our swimwear in real conditions.
COMFORTABLE IN OUR SWIMWEAR
We strive to support women to ensure they feel comfortable in our swimwear. The chest is not squashed, the bottom is not emphasised, coverage levels vary. Our mission is to ensure that every woman finds a swimming costume that suits her, whatever her body type or size.
UNDYED GREIGE LINING
In terms of sustainable development, we have chosen not to dye the lining of this swimsuit. It is therefore greige in colour, significantly reducing its CO2 footprint, especially given that the lining is not visible when the swimsuit is worn. All of our developments have a notion of eco-responsibility at heart. The planet is our playing field, the ocean being a favourite of ours, so let’s protect them.
DRY SIZING AND WET SIZING
To ensure a perfect fit in the water, it is important to choose the right size while you are dry because once they are in the water, swimsuits become looser. We therefore recommend you buy the correct size. The swimsuit needs to fit snugly against your body in the fitting room, and you should feel supported. The elastane content in certain components used in the design of our swimsuits softens and relaxes in the water.
