The purpose of a cycling jacket
The third layer is the layer that protects you from the elements, for instance the cold and the wind, while the underneath layers offer warmth and breathability. Component breathability
To determine a fabric s breathability we measure its evaporative resistance or RET (based on standard ISO11092). The lower its resistance, the more it lets water vapour produced by the body escape, therefore the more breathable it is.•RET <6: extremely breathable, suitable for most intense workouts•RET 6 to 12: very breathable, designed for moderate exercise•RET 12 to 20: moderately breathable, not enough for exercise•RET >20: little breathability, unsuitable for exercise
Care tips
Machine wash at 30°C. Synthetic programme. Turn the garment inside out. Use minimal laundry detergent. Do not add softener. Line dry in a warm, ventilated area. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean. Do not bleach. Do not place on a heater to dry.
What is a softshell ?
A softshell is a garment that is windproof and often stretchy to allow very good freedom of movement. A softshell is water-repellent (protection from drizzle or splashes from the road), but isn t waterproof like a hardshell .On the other hand, the membrane provides good breathability (ability to let water vapour generated by the body during exercise escape) and is therefore suited to sports activities.
WARMTH
A product s ability to protect from the cold. It depends on the material s thermal resistance and how much air can pass through it. The higher its thermal resistance, the more the product retains the heat produced by the body while cycling.This RC500 jacket s membraned main fabric is almost completely airtight and has an Rth thermal resistance of 0.019 m² K W.
This softshell jacket is the perfect companion on winter rides: it combines a windproof membrane to protect from the wind while remaining breathable with a soft fleece lining to keep you warm.
Warmth
Windproof fabric with fleece lining. Removable neck gaiter. Long back.
Breathability
Good perspiration wicking (RET 12), zipped vent openings under the arms.
Pockets
Zipped chest pocket, 3 back pockets (including 1 with zip), 2 side pockets.
Butyloctyl Salicylate
Protection from drizzle and spray from the road.

Stretch fabric. Elasticated waistband.
