We have reduced our environmental impact on this product
45.6% of the shoe’s weight is eco-designed:- 40% recycled polyester main material for the upper, mesh, laces and loops- Lining: 100% recycled polyester used for the blue yellow model (reference 8626273) and the brown model (reference 8626275) or dope dyed for the black yellow model (reference 8626277)- 30% biosourced (sugar cane) midsole- 30% recycled tyre rubber outer sole
Resistant soles for walking trails
Our hiking boots are designed for use on hiking trails. Indeed, the components of the sole and upper of our boots are selected and tested to ensure that they are as well suited as possible to hiking on soft trails (e.g. dirt paths in forests) or stony trails (rocky coastal footpaths). Road use (tarmac) may lead to premature wear on your boots and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain walking.
Tested for durability and optimal resistance
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: tearing eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, accelerated ageing. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.
What socks should you wear with the Quechua Escape 500 Fresh shoes?
We recommend that you choose a pair of socks made of polyamide, without cotton. Polyamide is a fibre that is specially chosen for its capacity to eliminate moisture. So when you sweat, the socks made of polyamide will eliminate any moisture. Then, your shoes will take over the task of wicking away the moisture to the outside thanks to the ventilated mesh. For this, we recommend the Newfeel WS500 Fresh socks.
WHY CHOOSE RECYCLED POLYESTER?
Main material of the upper, mesh, laces and lace loops in 40% recycled polyester. Lining 100% recycled polyester for blue yellow and brown colours. By recycling plastic bottles or used textiles to produce our polyester, we reduce the use of petroleum-based resources while preserving the qualities and performance of the material for your treks.
OUR COMMITMENT TO CONSUME LESS WATER WITH THIS PRODUCT
We use this mass pigmentation for the black yellow colours (reference 8626277).Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce our environmental impact, we use a mass pigmentation process that involves adding the colour pigments when the yarn itself is produced.
Our motivation? Provide the comfort and light weight of a sneaker while guaranteeing the protection and grip of a hiking shoe. Breathable it is ideal for the summer.
